A bachelor’s degree is associated with better employment rates and higher income

Qualitative Purpose Statement: The purpose of this qualitative study is to explore the factors that contribute to the stagnant rates of bachelor’s degree attainment among adults in our community for the past 20 years. By examining the experiences and perspectives of individuals who have not pursued or completed a bachelor’s degree, this study aims to gain a deeper understanding of the barriers and challenges they face, as well as the potential opportunities and resources that may exist within the community to increase bachelor’s degree attainment rates.

Quantitative Purpose Statement: The purpose of this quantitative study is to examine the relationship between bachelor’s degree attainment, employment rates, and income levels in our community. By analyzing large-scale datasets, including census data and employment records, this study aims to determine if there is a significant association between individuals who hold a bachelor’s degree and their likelihood of being employed and earning higher income. Additionally, this study seeks to investigate any potential disparities or inequalities in bachelor’s degree attainment and its impact on employment and income across different demographic groups within the community.

Mixed Methods Purpose Statement: The purpose of this mixed methods study is to comprehensively investigate the factors contributing to the stagnant rates of bachelor’s degree attainment among adults in our community for the past 20 years, as well as examine the relationship between bachelor’s degree attainment, employment rates, and income levels. By integrating qualitative interviews with individuals who have not pursued or completed a bachelor’s degree and quantitative analysis of large-scale datasets, this study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the barriers, challenges, opportunities, and resources related to bachelor’s degree attainment in our community. The findings from this study will inform strategies and interventions aimed at increasing bachelor’s degree attainment rates and improving employment outcomes and income levels for individuals in our community.
