PY 226 (Statistical Methods in Psychology) Final Project

Complete the following for each of the scenarios below: NOTE: This document will be updated with more scenarios when we cover more material. You will be informed of when this happens.
A. Indicate the appropriate type of inferential statistical test to be carried out on the data. Also explain clearly why it’s the appropriate test.
B. Write a concluding sentence, including the APA-formatted report. a. To do this, you’ll need to know if you have a significant finding or not
(among other things). Enough information has been provided for you to do that (but without having to do any, or only minimal, calculations). You’ll likely have extra information you don’t even need. But, having done this all semester, you are sophisticated and experienced enough to not let a little extra information throw you off track! Explain how you arrived at your decision (that is, report the critical statistic, etc.).
We’ve been doing the above all semester, so get this right! C. Create a graph that most appropriately displays the results (unless
specifically told not to do one). You can do this by hand (neatly), or use a computer program.
D. Answer any questions that are asked. In all cases, explain your answer. If your answer is less than one complete sentence you know you haven’t explained. For example, “t-test”, “yes”, “variability due to individual differences”, “larger”, “less”, and “the denominator of the F formula” are not sentences…or explanations.
Keep everything neat and organized. This must be typed (other than, possibly, your graphs). Please o not make a huge mess and make it the professor’s responsibility to sort it all out. Note that Scenario #6 is completed already. It is meant for you to use as a model for the others. Note how it’s organized as above (using “A”, “B”…you should do that, too).
