Recruit 16 people (friends, family, peers, etc.) and put them into two groups under and above the age of 25. Ask them:
“Approximately, how many hours per day do you spend on social media (Facebook, Instagram, etc.,)?”
Record their answers and organize their data into two columns (“under 25” and “over 25”). Calculate the mean and SS for each group.
The assignment is to conduct a hypothesis test using a two-tailed t test with an alpha level of .05. You need to compare the hours/day spent on social media in two groups of people (under and over age 25), is there a significant difference between them? If there is, which group spent more time on social media?
