Type of supervision

Part 1:
Drawing from your Learning Resources, develop and submit a supervision contract that includes the following subheadings:
Who will be included in the contract?
Purpose of supervision: Clinical, organizational, accreditation, administrative
Type of supervision
Administrative/paperwork details
Practicalities: Timing and location of sessions, ground rules (interruptions), equipment
Procedures: Cancellation/non-attendance, disagreements/disputes, contracts with organization, due process, dual relationships (line or administrative
supervision), and note keeping
Ground rules or guidelines for process: Informed consent, confidentiality, ethical and legal obligations, formative feedback, supervisory relationship
(openness, interest, expectations), and role conflicts
Roles and responsibilities (refer to previous sections for further guidance): Managing the supervision session, monitoring the supervision relationship,
creating an environment conducive to learning, self-disclosure, completion of reports, preparing and presenting in supervision, learning objectives, and
feedback
Evaluation criteria and methods (supervisee, supervisor, organization, formal, informal).
Review process: Renegotiation of contract /means of correction of issues
Signing off: Who will sign the contract? Will there be additional supervisors?
