Conduct a review of the context of your group work assignment based on the
application of four theories within Social Marketing and Not for Profit Marketing.
Two of these theories must be related to the Not for Profit Marketing component and
the other two must be linked to the Social Marketing component.
The theories you select do not necessarily have to have been taught on the module;
you can select theories from your textbooks on Not for Profit Marketing or Social
Marketing. You must apply the theories to the context you have selected for your
groupwork assignments in order to deconstruct your identified context or problem in
more detail. A critical application of the theories is required.

the deconstruction of the theories and a focused approach adopted throughout. A robust
answer as below but additional advanced features showing clear link between how
application of theories may be used to develop objectives and strategy to tackle a clearly
identified research problem. Evidence of appreciation of inter relationships between
theories and therefore application. Critically applied style throughout.
70-79: Good level of selection and application of theories to context or research problem.
Good evidence of consistency, flow and clarity throughout in its construction. Excellent
yet concise use of summaries for presenting material and use of secondary sources to
support inferences or deductions. Specific level of application noted for each theory.
Some attempt also at developing objectives or strategy to tackle initial context or problem
identified from use of theories.
60-69: Adequate selection and application of theories but lacks integration, consistency
and flow. Some evidence of use of secondary data sources and good effort applied to
context or identified problem. However depth is not maintained throughout the
application and a descriptive style is adopted.
50-59: Basic application of theories with descriptive construction. No consistency, flow
or clarity and no effort to link to social marketing and/or fundraising concepts. Weakly
established research or context problem and lack of focus throughout.
>50: Weak construction of assignment. Little application applied and lacks focus to
research problem or context. Very descriptive or generic applications. Little or no
evidence of secondary sources used.
