Perseverance in “The Soft-Hearted Sioux” and “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?”

You learned the definition of the American Dream in Week 1, and you also learned about the American identity. Traits often associated with the American identity include boldness, confidence, perseverance, and integrity. These traits are often demonstrated through a characters words or actions. This week, well focus on perseverance and how it is reflected in two of the readings. Choose one character from a work of fiction (“The Soft-Hearted Sioux,” “Pawn Shop,” or The Invisible Man) and one person from a work of non-fiction (“Speech to the Osages,” Incidents in the Live of a Slave Girl, or “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?”). Describe how perseverance is reflected in each.Criteria:
300 words minimum (excluding quotations and citations)
Include two properly integrated and cited direct or paraphrased quotations (one related to each character) to support your claims. See the Week 1 and Week 2 Literary Analysis Tools Modules for information about integrating and citing quotations.
There is a no-research policy in place for These post. Using any material other than the assigned readings and lectures, even if it is correctly quoted and cited, will result in a failing grade for this assignment. Contact your instructor if you have questions about this policy

Advocacy for Prison Reform in Delaware

Social workers are expected to advocate for and on behalf of clients. Currently, Delaware’s Criminal Justice system is unfair and unjust. For example, African Americans make up between 22% and 24% of the state’s population but 60% of the inmates in prison. Furthermore, approximately 75% of the youth in juvenile justice system are Black.

Briefly describe a situation in the text where Bryan Stevenson: a) advocated for a client (other than Trina, Ian, and Antonio); and, b) advocated for a community.
To advocate for prison reform in Delaware, write a letter to the Attorney General requesting her support to: a) Reform Delaware’s Criminal Code; and, 2) Reform Delaware’s Bail system. Of course you will have to research information regarding these two issues.

The Significance of Scientific Inquiry in Advancing Knowledge

Step 1

For each of the three goals of scientific inquiry, explain in common language why each goal is important and how it can contribute to our base of knowledge. To learn more about the requirements of a scholarly tone, refer to the section of the Writing Center.

Step 2

Describe two examples of each goal.

Note: Since you are using your Applied Behavior Analysis textbook as a reference, be sure to include a reference to the textbook. There is an example APA-formatted reference provided in the template for you to follow. It is important for you to know how to format references using the current version of APA. We will build your skills bit by bit throughout your program.
